George Rezendes, a life-long resident of Redlands, died at home on June 17 after a short illness. He was 93.
Mr. Rezendes attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Redlands High School in 1939. He worked in the citrus packing industry in the region. He served in the United States Army in the European Theater during World War II. After the war, he worked in the trucking industry. He married his wife of 63 years, Fay Hill, in 1948.
Mr. Rezendes worked for Stater Bros. Markets as a driver for 28 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Portuguese-American Club of Mentone and a life-long member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church.
Mr. Rezendes is survived by his wife, Fay; two children, Don Rezendes of Yucaipa and Kathleen Rezendes-Herrick of Mentone; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Olive Site, on Thursday at 10 a.m.
